The Academic Committee is a key academic body responsible for ensuring the effective planning, implementation and monitoring of academic activities in the institution. It plays a vital role in maintaining high standards in the teaching–learning process and promoting academic excellence. The committee acts as a link between the administration, faculty members and students to facilitate smooth academic functioning. Through systematic monitoring and coordination, it contributes significantly to the institution’s commitment to quality education in alignment with NAAC and other regulatory requirements.
Vision of the Academic Committee
To promote academic excellence by strengthening the teaching–learning process and fostering innovation while ensuring continuous improvement in academic standards aligned with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
Mission of the Academic Committee
- To plan, monitor and enhance academic activities in accordance with the institutional academic calendar and policies.
- To ensure effective implementation of the teaching–learning process and promote innovative and student-centric teaching practices.
- To review students’ academic performance and recommend appropriate measures for improvement.
- To facilitate coordination among departments, faculty members and students for smooth academic functioning.
- To support institutional quality enhancement initiatives in line with the guidelines of regulatory bodies namely AICTE, NAAC and Anna University.
Objectives of the Academic Committee
The primary objectives include ensuring effective planning of academic activities, monitoring the quality of teaching-learning processes, and identifying academic challenges faced by students to recommend remedial measures. The committee also aims to promote innovative teaching methodologies, recognize outstanding academic achievements, and ensure transparency in academic processes for quality assurance and accreditation purposes.
Functions of the Academic Committee
The committee performs several critical functions including the periodic review of course delivery, monitoring student attendance and internal assessment performance, and promoting faculty development. It encourages student-centric methodologies like project-based learning and flipped classrooms while maintaining proper documentation of academic activities to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitoring the course delivery as per course delivery plan / Academic Calendar.
- Getting feedback from students on teaching process.
- Analyzing Internal Test performance.
- Verification of course files & lab manuals, class committee.
- End Semester Exam & Follow up.
