About the Department

The Department of Management Studies at JIT offers a dynamic and industry-oriented MBA programme designed to shape future-ready business leaders. Established in 2009 and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the department has consistently focused on academic excellence, innovation, and professional success.

Our two-year full-time MBA programme (four semesters) is carefully structured to bridge the gap between classroom learning and corporate expectations. With an intake of 120 students from diverse undergraduate backgrounds, the programme nurtures analytical thinking, leadership ability, and entrepreneurial mindset.

At JIT, learning goes beyond textbooks. Students benefit from industry internships, live projects, industrial visits, guest lectures by corporate leaders, business analytics training, and hands-on exposure through case studies and management simulations. The Summer Internship and Final Industry Project ensure real-time corporate experience, making our graduates job-ready from day one.

Specializations in Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, system, and operation enable students to develop domain expertise aligned with current industry trends. Our SMART classrooms, data analysis labs, and continuous soft-skill development programmes enhance communication, confidence, and professional competence.

The department emphasizes Outcome-Based Education (OBE), ensuring that every student develops strong managerial capabilities, ethical values, and global business awareness. The MBA curriculum, prescribed by Anna University, integrates core management subjects, specialization electives, data analysis laboratory, summer internship, and final industry project. The department adopts Outcome-Based Education, Problem-Based Learning, case study methodology, industry interaction, and continuous internal assessment mechanisms to ensure attainment of PEOs, POs, and PSOs.

MBA – Specializations

The MBA programme at JIT offers dual specialization streams based on students’ interests and career aspirations. The specializations include Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, system and Operation. The curriculum prescribed by Anna University, Chennai, is enriched with additional industry-oriented inputs to meet contemporary business demands. This integration of academic rigor and practical relevance provides students with strong domain expertise and a competitive edge in the job market.

A distinctive feature of the programme is the structured Bridge Course conducted before the commencement of regular academic sessions. This initiative helps bridge the knowledge gap among students from diverse undergraduate backgrounds and ensures a common foundation in management fundamentals. The bridge programme enables students to confidently transition into advanced business studies and promotes uniform academic preparedness.

At JIT, students experience holistic development through various academic and co-curricular activities such as Organizational Structural Study, Outbound Training, Book Reviews, Summer Internships, Weekly Presentations, Current Affairs Discussions, Seminars, Workshops, Business Quizzes, Management Meets, and Management Association activities. In addition, students actively participate in sports, cultural events, media presentations, New Product Development (NPD), creativity and innovation initiatives, fostering leadership, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking.

MBA – Marketing

MBA – Systems Management
